On his after hours show Ron Reagan gave an argument for embryonic stem cell research that I hadn't heard before. He said that if some politicians consider these early embryos to be human beings, they would have to consider the embryos destroyed in fertility clinics to be human beings. By that logic they should therefore push for the banning of in-vitro fertilization and fertility clinics. They shouldn't make an exception for one case but not the other.
