I hope that the end comment was made tongue in cheek. Otherwise you're stating that this disease is communicable and therefore we (diabetics) should all hide out away from the rest of society (on the same lines as a leper colony).
In regards to the first post, take it as a coincidence (like Randolph said). It could be possible that something in the house is causing the immune reposnse, but the probability of suceeding in finding anything would be slim and the cost:benefits enormous.
