$1200 is pretty high by our estimate. For a patient using 40U/day and a retail cost of $55 for 1000 units this calculates to about $800 per year so they are off by 50% and this assumes the highest price insulin in the market. At Walmart, relion insulin is more like $20 per 1000 units so the yearly price is more like $400 or so.
