By all means, RANT ON! I was a bit conflicted perhaps like you when I first read this announcement. On one hand, I think I agree with your rant, but on the other hand, the chinese have a saying roughly translated that "a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first steps" maybe this is just one more step that will get us closer in some way to a cure available to everyone. I hope so anyway. Any substantive progress in research I applaud, however small. What the heck, its still a better development than getting another diabetes related announcement on something like a new recipe for a "morning rush hour burrito" I just read on another diabetes website the other day (no kidding)!
