I am not discounting INGAP. I plan to continue to send contributions to the Strelitz Diabetes Foundation which helps to provide support for Dr. Vinik's work.
However, I am not optomistic that this round of studies is going to lead to a drug that will cure my children. The animal studies (as far as I know) were not done on large animals with autoimmune diabetes (if such a model even exists). I think the concept is cool. It deserves continued exploration. I doubt we are there yet.
