My understanding of double blind clinical trials is that nobody knows who gets the real drug. The volunteers, the company hired to do the trial, and certainly not the company or researcher know the results of the trial until it is over.

Many can hope or wish that INGAP will be able to help at least some people, but at this time I didn't think anyone knew either way. Do you have some special knowledge, or can you merely by reading a chat transcript; determine the efficacy of a drug? If so, instead of going through all the trouble of a trial with the next drug to come along, an internet chat with the developer can just be forwarded to you for analysis of the drug.

P&G had sales of 43 billion dollars in 2003; curing diabetes even if it was worth 2 billion in additional sales would not affect their stock price that much. P&G sells more dog food than that. P&G certainly does not need their stock hyped by a researcher talking on a web chat.
