First, if the glutton refuses to share the fish, he will end up with a whole lot of stinky rotting fish. I'd say he will try to sell the fish. He also recognizes that, in the grand scheme of things, if no one else has any money (goods or services to sell), then he will be stuck with a lot of rotten fish.

As far as those trinkets go, every time the rich guy builds a pool, redecorates his house, buys a fancy car, etc, he spends money. And if the less wealthy guy he is paying for these goods and services, consumes a little less than he earns, he too can invest and become wealthy.

I give to JDF and a number of other nonprofit diabetes organizations. However, I realize that the researchers are trying to earn a living and they won't be working on DM unless they are paid appropriately. Furthermore, there will be no cure for this @#$$%& disease unless someone can profit from it.
