You do not say whether a doctor has determined the cause of your son's tingling. Benfotiamine was originally developed as an all-purpose drug to treat unpleasant neurological symptoms from any cause, but principally from long-term alcoholism. In recent years it has been found to reduce the symptoms of those suffering from diabetic neuropathy, and just a few months ago research was published showing that it not only suppresses symptoms, but may even cure damaged nerves and prevent further pathological changes, at least from diabetes.

Since benfotiamine operates by concentrating thiamine at the nerves and thus strengthening them by super-nourishment, in theory it might help in a variety of nerve diseases. Since it is extremely non-toxic, why not just try it and see if it helps?
