I think the Bush funding priorities are certainly wanting. The billions we invest in the space program for example I think would be better spent in the American Center for Cures as suggested by Senator Joe Lieberman. I think it would help not only the sufferers of disease but all, all Americans, in the form of lower healthcare costs once a few major chronic diseases were slayed.

I'm no fan of socialism; We have a wonderfully balanced political system as envisioned by our founding fathers. But our system here in the US as run by Republicans seems to be leaving many Americans out in the cold. 40 million of us have no basic medial coverage. Is that working??? No!!! If our system were more democratically applied, as suggested by Joseph Lieberman, I think it would be be a hell of an improvement over the billion dollar defense-spending tax-breaks-for-the-rich giving, confusing Medi-cal tinkering, George W. Bush.

In the face of the current inequity I applaud JDRF for 'fighting fire with fire' by taking stock in MicroIslet. Good for them to not wait around for 'the politicians' to get thier heads on straight.
