Until people like yourself unite & speak out as a group this disease will unfortunately ever be cured. 100 billion dollars of revenue a year in North America alone.
DO PEOPLE REALIZE THAT TYPE 2 WILL BE THE BIGGEST DISEASE IN THE WORLD W/I FIVE (5) SHORT YEARS!Not just North America.
There is alot of "lip" service; pats on who evers back upon a so called cure, then absolutely nothing for follow up.

I as a parent of a seven yr. old boy with Type 1 WILL NOT GO LIGHTLY INTO THE NIGHT!
I promote awareness but even with this approach people have taken diabetes as being cured by insulin! I have had comments like "when will he grow out of it"?
I believe this is again from diabetics living with this disease in relative silence.
How does AIDS account for most of donations from goverment & a great deal of actors support, when diabetes accounts for far more deaths & complications?
I sure if diabetics & their families became much more aggresive & vocal that govn't etc. would take notice.

Question: How many people know that Hallie Berry is a Type 1 diabetic? Ask a few people & the response is that they were unaware of this.
People who have a very HIGH public profile are needed in addition to Mary Tyler Moore. I think she would appreciate their VOCAL support.
