What would Larry King and the audience watching be able to do about the slowness of research? I think Mary and Dr. Melton did a great job explaining the research and why stem cells are so important, etc. but I don't know why we'd have to have an entire show dwelling on the slowness of research because Larry can't really do much about that... I mean, shouldn't we be lobbying directly with the people responsible for funding this research, like pharmaceutical companies and the National Institutes of Health and the FDA? I've heard a lot of researchers say "yeah, it's slow but it needs to be slow if we're going to do it right."
