Not sure overall, but relative to stem cell, he may be an upgrade from Lott. I think at the last minute Lott came out in favor of stem cell, but in Frist's own words "I conclude that both embryonic and adult stem cell research should be federally funded within a carefully regulated, fully transparent framework" I realize this is only one of many issues affecting our community (and perhaps not the most important to many, but lets hope Frist is on board with our goals. Also, interestingly enough, in 2000 the American Public Health Association issued ratings on Senators, and the percentage of time they voted in favor of the APHA's positions. Frist was 0% and Lott was 14%! Go figure. But who knows any of this!!
