Hi Ed,

I can only base any judgments on my own personal experience. If I was >18 mmol/l (1 mmol/l = 18 mg/dl) 90 minutes after a meal, I would definitely give myself another (small) shot of fast-acting insulin (Humalog in my case). However, I cannot say that's the right thing for your son, as there is the risk of inducing a hypo, especially considering that he returns to normal by lunch.

Maybe someone else has an idea of the best course of action.
