I'm a seventeen year old, type one Diabetic (since I was 10). My mother and I have been doing a lot of research on INGAP and the human trials that are currently in progess. As far as I've heard from GMP Companies (www.gmpcompanies.com) - the company involved in supporting these trials - phase 1 and 2 of these trials will be available around September of this year. The next two phases of the trials will begin either late 2002 or early 2003 in which, hopefully, more hospitals will be involved in and a lower age level will be be considered for participants (right now the age level is 18).
I would suggest, as GMP Companies suggested to me, that you check their web site regularly for more updates and all pray that INGAP will be the answer that we have all been hoping for.
