The following is a table for research only. This does not tell the whole story. For example, There is the autoimmune institute that has type I related research. Also, stem cell research can be said to be directly related. Then there is spending for clinical studies. It is really hard to say exactly how much is diabetes related. The NIH (National Institute of Health) website (www.nih.gov) has the full budget for the niddk (national institute of diabetes, digetive, kidney) but it includes other diseases. Follow the link for research funding areas. Also there is govt. spending from non-NIH agencies like the Center for disease control. And include private agencies like ADA/JDRF/DRI/Scripts/EVMS to name a few.
