I haven't read this article. However, I'm really not sure what the point is. From a practical clinical standpoint, I don't see why these index scores would be valuable. Every diabetic should strive for the best glycemic control possible every day. To my knowledge, that's the only way to prevent diabetic neuropathy. One doesn't need to determine a "score" to help make a decision about "preventative measures." The best preventative measure is good glycemic control. We don't need to spend money on research such as this!
