Actually, I may have spoken too soon. I still use the old Novolin aluminum pen (about the size of a normal ballpoint pen). It gives me the opportunity to eject a 1-unit squirt. If you are talking about the newer, bulkier pens where you dial a setting and it does the rest for you, that facility may be lost. Personally, I have never understood why a bigger, bulkier unit is "progress", and especially if the bigger unit doesn't allow you to easily eject air.
By the way, when I phoned Novolin to order another of the smaller units, they told me they no longer existed. I wished they had asked me before changing to the "new & improved" version.
