Much as I hate to agree with any of the major diabetes charities, I have to give them one thing in all this. If you leave the pen tips on for too long, air does get sucked into the cartridge...and this can screw you up big time if you're only taking 5 or 6 units to cover lunch and you get a unit or two of air. Are they trying to sell more pen tips? Of course. Are they trying to avoid lawsuits using the "we told you so" defence? You bet.
But this once, they have a point. No pun intended.
Needles, on the other hand (which I no longer use, but my wife does) she uses until they hurt, which can be 3 to 5 times for her.
And lancets? Good lord, I think I still have half the box of 100 I got 5 years ago.
