Sometimes those of us who have been "here" for a long time do discuss other issues.
I received an e mail today from JDRF which, in essence, notes that all of the attention of the U.S. Government has been redirected toward dealing with the terrorists. Too bad!!! In this way Bin Laden succeeded. It's a shame that issues such as medical research now have to be put on the back burner. This could end up costing lives (and not just American lives) as surely as the attacks have cost lives. Hopefully, we will be able to get back some approximation of "normal" in this regard in the not too distant future.
