"I don't want GWB, Marina, You or anybody else standing in
the way when the practicalities of this issue are so simple"

Really Alan, I hardly think anything I say will stop the research. It will go on anyway, even if it is not federally funded. It's going on right now most likely somewhere on this planet.

"Go to church. Get somebody to lay on hands."

I've never had someone "lay hands on" Alan, I'd rather make up my own mind and then express my opinion if you don't mind. Oh, but you obviously do mind. Oh well, last time I checked it was a free country.

"I don't think those embryos are conscious."

Actually that has nothing to do with it as far as I'm concerned, despite what Therese says about souls and whatever else. The fact is that those embryos are alive and have a real and legitimate future ahead of them, providing they get a womb for nine months. The process of extracting what they need to survive, their stem cells, is lethal to them. It's irrelevant whether or not they have a "conscious" as you say. If someone were an athiest and didn't believe in souls at all, would that give them the right to kill anyone they felt like killing? After all, to that person, there is no such thing as a soul or a conscious, so it doesn't matter right?

"those excess frozen fertilized eggs are either going to stay frozen or get incinerated."

Instead of using this argument again and again, why don't you admit that adoption is another alternative and why don't you question why there are so many "excess" embryos in the first place. Perhaps some fertility clinics need to re-evaluate their policy.
