Alan,
I also think that he (the father) did the right thing in choosing to discontinue life support for his premature brain damaged twins..absolutely, no question.
At the risk of sounding dramatic, they were both placed in the loving arms of the mother, with her in her casket, which was very comforting for the father. (and our whole local community)
My responses to Marina's inquiries was that if one was *only* following what they felt was God's will (what pro-lifers feel is the ultimate moral compass) then they should feel the brain damaged baby(s) would have had a "purpose" in the world, if only how they might have affected others in a positive way, ect..and should fight to protect them and keep them alive--as they are doing for the frozen embryos.
They (pro-lifers) certainly have that view against the March of Dimes organization...that selective abortion of defective embryos (people) is the sinful agenda of the MoDimes organization.
I so hope I'm being clear in my views.
