It's just that if stem cells aren't your thing, then why not come up with other suggestions for CURE. If people don't think anything else is worth trying, we all might as well just wring our hands and feel sorry for ourselves. I, for one, don't take that approach. We should try each and every avenue that has some medical underpinning if we are intent on curing diabetes.
As pointed out by Mr. Nesbitt, regardless what the US does or doesn't do, there will always be other, such as New Zealand and Sweden, for example, that will 'try' other things. Unfortunately, it's just that the US has the 'big bucks' that makes it so critical for the US to also pursue/try these other approaches.
