Anyway, I'll offer some alternatives: islet cell proliferation, adult stem cells, stem cells taken from fat cells, xenotransplantation, islet neogeneses therapies like INGAP and I.N.T., (possibly combined with anti-CD3 or Enbrel?) It's really something that so many people are so easily manipulated into thinking that there is only one avenue to a cure. I admit that none of the therapies that I've listed is proven, but neither are embryonic stem cells a proven therapy either. Why not explore all avenues instead of clausterphobically pretending that only one will suffice?

Steve, thanks for the articles here and below. I voted for Ralph Nader in the last election so I'm finding myself in strange company politically but I'm not really a political person anyway. I tend to look at each issue individually and make up my mind from there.
