People always assume that I have not read this or I have not read that. Before condemning me for not being informed give me a chance. I did read Safire (our local paper carries his editorial). I disagree that he is conservative, I think of him as a middle of the roader. He goes where the winds are most favorable. His position on this issue was not stated on clear ethical principles ratrher they were stated on political expediency.
By the way, you accused me of condemning people. I did know such thing in my 1st post in this thread. I do not condemn Alan or any other that takes these positions. I do however think that those that are opposed have reasonable positions and should not be maligned because they hold contrary positions.
