I can admit that from an emotional point of view-- but not in the Legal sense (which is what this issue really is being that it a government decision and it is the issue of my original post!) A staunch pro-lifer should be ashamed to admit that they are different, because THAT is hypocritical.
Staunch pro-lifers are choosing to defend the "elegant" soul (an embryo) but I don't see them out defending the physically "less perfect" soul, the brain damaged baby.
For a staunch pro-lifer....a brain damaged baby and a blastocyte's lives and souls should be regarded as equal. The person who is battling to save embryos should also be on the front line battling to save a baby who is brain damaged but can nonetheless live their life out. If you don't, it is not the souls rather than the perceived physical "perfection" they (you) are trying to keep here on earth.
