Therese, at one time, it was legal to have slaves and sell their babies like property because that's all they were considered to be...a mere commodity. At one time it was legal in Germany to round up all Jewish people and put them in concentration camps in and around Germany because they were deemed by Hitler to be sub-human. Many were gassed, tortured or used for human experimentation (or is that too "emotional" for you?). At one time it was legal to force African Americans to use separate bathrooms and water fountains, even separate schools, than the rest of American Society. At one time it was legal for the Australian gov't to take children away from their aboriginal parents in an effort to "integrate" them into Australian society (many were used as slaves by their new families). Human history is littered with the travesties of what was legal or accepted for the time. The one constant throughout has been those few who have followed their conscience, what you oddly call "emotion". In that respect, I don't mind being in the minority.

And by the way, I don't believe that embryos should have more rights than brain dead babies. That was a product of your own twisted reasoning. I just believe they should be given the same chance (i.e., a womb with a view), nothing more, nothing less.

And I say again, one more time, that it's fine with me if you conclude that there isn't anything wrong with taking stem cells from embryos, just realize, without the sugar coating, what you are really proposing and if you can't face that realization, then maybe you have no business posing these types of questions in the first place.
