I'm so glad you are here! I read the abstract you suggested and I don't have a clue as to why these proteins are important, at least from the standpoint of this board. Are they simply markers for peripheral nervous system versus central nervous system progenitor cells? Why is this important for diabetes cure research?

For the non-physicians, non-scientists out there (and that's probably most of those who post here), I want you to know that I always found immunology somewhat confusing --- and that's from when I was a medical student taking the microbiology/immunology course in about 1984 - before immunology got really intricate and confusing! What we need here is an immunology for dummies book! As I looked at the abstract regarding the family of neurogenins, I realized that I don't even know what many of the words mean.

Brave New World, huh?
