You're right on the money.

I've always thought it laughable--the "control your diabetes so It doesn't control you" rhetoric. It's a catch 22. Intensive therapy requires much more from the daily thought processes than a more lax approach. Therefore it *does* have a tighter hold on a person.

Expending the energy it takes to attempt to 'control' diabetes by today's archaic methods ($ for the pharma industry) certainly has the upper hand on us all.

Diabetes will be 'in control' until we have a cure, no matter how much the necessity of "control" and the is candy-coated. Fawning over new gadgets will not further the cure cause. (O.k. I admit singing the praises of the DEX meter here one day. Weak moment.) :)
