I just heard on ABC evening news 2/28/00 - that some good success has been found with islet cells being able to produce insulin in animals that would reverse diabetes - type 1. This has not been tested on humans yet. Is this a brand new thing? I have heard and read about beta cell transplant, but I'm not sure if they are talking about the same thing. Where can I go to get more info about very current research? Thanks.
