Once you realize how gullible and fuzzy-minded many people are, you can become a very profitable part of the alarmist industry.

Another good example was Canada's Tom Green who approached a Harvard professor asking for his support to fight urban sprawl in Labrador, where the migratory Newfoundland mammoth was threatened by a massive housing boom. Tom wanted to get a thousand signatures to present to Canada's President, Tim Horton, to protect the Labrador wilderness. Guess what? This notoriously liberal professor not only signed his petition, but huffed and puffed on camera about how THIS MUST BE STOPPED! He went on about how Canada must avoid making the same mistakes as the US.

Now some facts:

1. Labrador is about the size of Belgium and has a declining population that could be measured by the dozen.
2. There is no Newfoundland mammoth.
3. Canada has a Prime Minister, not a President.
4. Tim Horton is the name of a chain of Donut shops.

But when you're dealing with "intellectuals", righteous indignation is all it takes!
