Robin,

Your points are excellent, as usual.

I fear in this day and age that a group of upset parents and people with diabetes 'protesting' in the old fashioned way would be more effective than distributing brochures in one of many many exhibits. I'm assuming there will be public sidewalks. Is anyone familiar with the configuration of the areas near the convention center?

Perhaps BOTH could work. Being done seperately. Then we'd all have dinner, of course! :-)

I've never been to a 'diabetes convention,' (or any medical gathering for that matter) and am not sure exactly what kind of relative size they are as compared to, say, the Consumer Electronics Show(s) in Chicago and Las Vegas annually (which I have attended) but generally EVERYone is handing out brochures and wanting their 'stuff' to be of utmost important to everyone. Often, in general, if I am given a brochure at an event I'll either recind, or throw it in the nearest trash can after taking it to avoid having to say "no" to the offer.

Angry Mommies and Daddies can't be ignored. People who are supposed to be "the represented," protesting "the representor" I would think would be something that couldn't be lost in the shuffle.

The actual wording of the message is something that others more articulate than myself would be welcome to assist with. In fact, if I knew where the heck to search for it/them at TIF, I know there are many eloquent "ADA criticizm" threads that probably contain gems!

This is all off the top of my head, as well. I'm non-committal about anything right now, as I know are you. I'm kinda wondering what 'TIF readers' are thinking about all of this...

Therese
