Therese,

I see little hope of accomplishing anything by working 'within' the ADA to create change, but that is entirely another item from working as an exhibitor 'within' the convention hall at the ADA Scientific Sessions. If I could come up with a focused message to deliver under the banner of IDDT U.S., I think the latter might fly - providing ADA wouldn't perceive IDDT U.S. a competitor to their own offerings and/or if that has anything to do with their acceptance criteria for exhibitors.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the ADA's general funding or lack of funding for cures is a bit nebulous and would thus be something I'd find difficult to address effectively. However, I think there are ways (from inside of the exhibit hall) of discreetly pointing out that ADA could better heed the consumers/people affected by diabetes that they claim to represent, as well as supporting xeno research and the general use of natural animal-derived products that pertain to diabetes.

I'm hindered by the apparent lack of public guidelines or application form for potential ADA exhibitors. If they are available on the ADA site, I haven't found them. It appears as if one must call or email to get more information about that, so anything I've said so far is simply talking off the top of my head...

Robin
