According to a small pocket booklet by Dr. Weil, entitled
"Your Top Health Concerns" also @ (www.drweil.com), NutraSweet
is under a lot of suspicion...

"Some women find that aspartame (Nutra Sweet) aggravates
PMS."

I think the "link" between DM and SLE (Lupus) is that
they are both an autoimmune disorder.

With all the Vits/Herbs being used today I think it's
wise to get the Doc's opinion or do some research
to make sure it's good for a person.

Examples are:
Ginseng reduces effects of some antihypertensive drugs.

Chromium lower Blood glucose in DM's putting people
at risk for hypoglycemia. (Not sure about IDDM's)

Q-10 interferes with the oral anticoagulant, Warfarin; and
the herb kava may interact with Xanax (alprazolam)

St. John's Wort may potentiate Paxil.

Grapefruit juice may lower effects of birth control pills,
as some antibiotics do. (Grapefruit juice slows
metabolism of Estrogen in the liver, this in turn may
"increase the toxicity of the drug".)

(See: www.nursepdr.com) in the "News Center" catagories.
