I hate to get into this again, but I am going to repeat some information that I posted on this topic long ago.
I have known Dr. Roberts, literally, since I was a little boy. He was my father's personal physician. Our families lived 5 doors apart on Gregory Road in W. Palm Beach until they moved to Pamela Lane in WPB (where they still live) in the late 1960's (date is approximate) and his older children (of 5 sons and one daughter) were our playmates. I have personally discussed the aspartame question with him. His warnings to me were based on anecdotal cases - not on any type of controlled studies, epidemilogic studies, etc. Furthermore, he owns his own printing press (literally, owns the publishing company) and he can (and does) publish whatever opinions he holds without beeing subjected to peer review. I can tell you that our family (my wife, I, and 2 diabetic kids) drinks aspartame sweetened drinks BY THE GALLON. I don't know if the aspartame will kill the kids. I do know that diabetes is very dangerous and these products make it a lot easier to manage.
