Having read Gary's book and having many discussions with him---he is a man who has enormous integrity and the most compelling desire to cure diabetes that I have known (though many have come close). His family has also been the driving force behind DRI in Florida for years. He hates BS and has seen more of it in many areas than I will see in my life time. He does not speak badly about others but also questions as to the "how" and "why" under the standard operating procedures of others who claim to be truly interested in curing diabetes. With people like Dr. Norma Kenyon, Dr. Riccordi and Bob Pearlman working at DRI--it is safe to say that Gary knows how to recruit the best of the best as well. If you have not read the book---do it, if you want the inspiration of a life time--try to speak with Gary---he is amazing. There is not much from the past that he has not seen and there is not much from the furture that he is afraid to find out. Just a thought. Tom
