Thank you for your message. It amazes me when you talk to leading researchers one on one that they mostly agree with my view of JDF. But of course they can't come out in a forum like this and share their views. It would be suicide! I can't mention names so don't bother asking me. But they are some of the leading researchers out there. One of the things they are most disgusted with is the amount of time and energy they take to submit a request for funding. They need to spend as much hours writing up a request as they spend in the lab. I don't have any answers for it but it is something that needs to be addressed. I really hope JDF can change there past mistakes, but I'm not holding my breath. My son has been diabetic for ten years now and I lay awake every night worrying about him. I lost my mother, father and sister to this disease; I refuse to lose my child. I’m sorry to those I offend that still support JDF, but I BLAME JDF for the lack of progress in a better treatment for my son. I'm still interested in what new treatment JDF funded with their 180 million dollar "Only Remedy for the Cure" campaign shows promise for all of us. They must have spent millions of dollars to fly everyone out to San Fran. and pay for their rooms. Surely there must be something they announced beside how much money their funding that can give us hope shortly. Just remember it was the silence of the JDF volunteers that got JDF in trouble to begin with. Now, people like others and myself who have raised hell have been able to bring about the new “initiative” to find a cure. I won’t be silent until my son is cured! As far as me not posting my name I think some of you know who my family is. I choose not to have our name on the Internet due to political and personal reasons. Sorry!
