I hate to say this (since both my husband and I work for software companies), but I don't trust computers. Software drives these processes, and software is only as good as the person doing the programming and tweaking. No PERSON today can tell you when a particular insulin will peak and how long it will last. No PERSON today can tell you you will need more - or less - H or N because of adrenal/sex/growth hormone activity, etc. There are just too many variables - and some researchers doubt that we yet know what half of them are. I do realize that a number of people are extremely interested in this technology and the MiniMed vision of the closed loop sensor/insulin pump. That's fine by me, to each his/her own. But I personally am not interested in this. I will only relinquish control of my diabetes to islets, which are nature's closed loop sensor/insulin pump.
