This news is actually a little old; patent issued a few months ago. More importantly, Proctor & Gamble is backing Alexion although the hottest product right now is a compound that reduces inflammation during heart surgery procedures.
Immutran, I believe, has also developed transgenic pigs and was reported to have recently shipped some to the U.S., probably to Genzyme/Diacrin.
