My personal opinion on this one is not very flattering. I believe that ProBeta is snake oil, with no proven efficacy and negligible testing for toxicity. Diabetes Interview has often puzzled me with its occasionally excellent coverage juxtapositioned with startling errors and omissions. I will assume their behavior was a result of naivete, and not a financial conflict of interest.
