Happy New Year!

This is my very first posting on this website, although I have been following it for many months now. I find it to be a very interesting, informative, controversial and compassionate discussion board. I have pursued many of the topics which have presented themselves on the web and learned a great deal from the exchange of information. I am the auspicious person who accompannied Ayden on his entire run across Canada in the line of nursing duties and much more (as you might well be aware of if you had been following our website). I am very appreciative of the opportunity given to me.

Since I have returned home I have found more time to delve into the whole subject of diabetes and realize just exactly what Ayden accomplished. Given an energy deficient disease, he was able to complete a marathon per day, adjusting insulin, diet and so forth in order to have the required energy to carry out the task at hand. What this meant was juggling mealtimes, running schedules, injecting appropriate units of insulin and providing adequate rest opportunities in order to meet the desired outcome of propelling Ayden from Vancouver to Halifax. This was a challenging endeavour for Ayden to rise above for 188 days. Ultimately, he rose to the challenge.

Now, it is time for everyone else concerned to rise to the challenge. The cure for diabetes is very contiguous. This area of knowledge is obviously this website's forte, thus I need not expound on the subject. As I return to school next week, I will endeavor to update myself on the current cure research and keep abreast of the situation. I am willing and dedicated to help in any way to facilitate in the quest for a cure.

Happy New Year to Everyone! I will continue to follow the dialogue in the New Year. Thanks for sharing with me throughout the last seven months.

Rosemary
