Did Ann Landers ever print a follow-up to the letter that caused the big uproar here? As someone who doesn't see her column, I wouldn't know.
One thing I do know, is that when there is such a big backlash, Dear Abby will always post a follow-up whether she still agrees with her original stance or not.
