I also wanted to add that it was Barbara Davis who first reached out to me in my darkest hours of living with diabetes shortly after Joey was diagnosed and sent us to her center where I had my first meeting with a researcher and realized the difference such relationships could mean to me and to Joey.
She is a very special lady and I will hold her dear in my heart forever.
