Renee, my older son (11) has had type 1 for 7 years. I've had it for 30. He also has asthma and ADHD. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 9 weeks after my almost 10 year old son was born. My father had hyperthyroidism. My mother was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (so far much milder than mine) about 5 years ago. Interesting, ain't it?
