Did any one see the early morning show today, Tuesday, where a 13 year old boy was discussing his diabetes. I just missed the segment. I also spoke with JDF yesterday and of course shame on me I believe the mans name was Bill? jane Adams was ill but Bill told me that JDF is considering some sort of response to the control you diabetes for life initiative and is working on new advertising. More hard hitting as he said. If any of you have contact with the Washington office of JDF 1-800-JDF-1-VOTE they can give you some information into their campaign. Both he and I agreed that now is the time to keep the pressure on by writing letters to NIDDK, congressman etc. He said that while he does not believe that the campaign will effect monies going to clinical studies he feels the worst that is can do is make congressional support for more money difficult. Please write to the members of the diabetes caucus, rep. Nethercutt especially and your own congressman as well. Again I apologize for the uncertainty of the gentlemans name. But you could just ask for jane Adams if she is well and back in the office. I will call back later today and get the correct name of the JDF representative that i spoke with. I know he works with Jane Adams however.
