As promised to some of you, I made calls to the paper this morning to inquire as to why they and Sun Media do not have this informative series of articles archived. This is a series that has implications for many people - internationally. London is a centre that services out-of-area, out-of-province, and out-of-country patients for many, many conditions.
At mid-afternoon, I'm still waiting for a response as to why these medical features are not archived. The LFP has archived material on our London Hydro problem - why not this.

Today's feature titled, 'War Against Cancer' is presently found under NEWS - '2001 Canada Games approaching' then way down the page is War Against Cancer - Full Story.
Wednesday's 'Diabetes: Flame of Hope' did not discuss islet xenotransplantation.
Monday's feature was 'Body and Soul: London at the forefront of transplant surgery' -there the words 'pigs', 'xenotransplantation' and 'transgenic' were evident.
But last Sunday, the first feature of the first ever Sunday Edition was 'Life and Death: On the Edge- The Race to Save a Life' a good and encouraging feature about the innovative research that is happening here. AND, the face in the pictorial demonstrating laser alignment technology and in my opinion 'the face of the new direction of medicine' was none other than Maggie Gordon, daughter of Al and Marilyn Gordon of The Islet Foundation. A third year med-student, Maggie is working at the London Regional Cancer Centre as a part of her co-op programme. Just immagine the possibilities!
Did I inform the LFP of this? Yes. Did I inform them of The Islet Foundation ? Yes.
