Today, the London Free Press published the next in their medical series, highlighting, the services and research in the London Health Sciences facilities.
After, Monday's effort about transplants and some of the future developments that were discussed I had some degree of hope for Wednesday's feature. On Monday they used terms such as xenotransplantation, pigs, and transgenic. However, I knew they had not contacted Al Gordon if there was even the slightest intention of mentioning the Islet and Xeno. Read Mondays feature on Transplants for some hope. (I do not see a link for archives but please post it if you know it or can find it.)
While reading Hope of a Cure, try to remember what I was told earlier today, -if you want to split hairs - the article today is about 'cure' and what we want - pig islets transplanted - is technically classified as 'treatment'. I'll go with 'treatment' as most of us don't have 20 years for this kind of tinkering around. Now, the tinkering will provide money for living and test tubes for those who receive research funding - and we have only the promise of complications. No Thanks.
Maybe we could ask LFP to do a minority report on this 'treatment' approach - we buy papers, pay taxes, medical supplies -just maybe they could give us some ink. Mary-Jane Egan knows about The Islet Foundation but had to go with business as usual - I presume.
