Whoa...I went away for a few days but it looks as if no one missed me..this place was as hot as ever.
As for the Santa Barbara Diabetes Project I attended the second meeting of this project in October at the invitation of Lois Javonovich. Lois is a very well known and well respected diabetes researcher who also happens to be type 1 herself. This project is her brain child and I believe comes out of an earnest interest to help find a cure for a disease that threatens her life as well as many of her patients. It is a communications project in that Lois is attempting to answer some of the questions we all have regarding researchers sharing information. I believe she already has established a web site and is now attempting to secure further financing to make this a world wide effort. She is a very giving wonderful woman who I believe would share her ideas and her vision with anyone seeking answers. You can email her directly through her web site at the Samsum Insitute. It is also my understandning that it was Lois' husband Charles who was involved with the aforementioned Loran group (I may be mistaken and am ready to take my lashes if it is so) . They have divorced and Lois is working on her own.
