Dear Robin;
Al requested that the type of email message you just posted to me stop. i want to respect his wish and not respond but I believe a personal attack should be addressed. I suspected that your anger sprang from a need to defend the gentleman named Steve who I responded to initially. My response to him was based on his referring to those who read the IFW as cowards. Only people afraid of information are cowards and i stand by that. People May not agree or find much merit in information presented but information is information and I havent seen either you or sterling steve as you referr to him come up with the cure yet,. So I will continue in my persuit of information. You also seem to know so much about me and my motives etc. and i suggest that you know nothing about me as we have never met or spoken directly to one another. I might ask that you wait until that time until you pass judgement. I have had many private e-mail discussions with Al. .We seem to get on quite nicely and i don't threaten him in the least. He seemed not so upset about the Santa Barbara project and preferred to call them himself and get information. He also took the time to email me explaining in quite informative tones the past history of this organization. I accepted his information and considered it as he did what I had to offer on the project. The project by the way simply seems to want to organize the researchers of islet cell transplantation into a group working together and avoiding duplication of research. When I heard that i thought what a great idea. How much faster our goal of transplantation for diabetics could be reached. I suppose if you called them yourself you might have found that out. I don't need warm and fuzzies from anyone especially you since it would appear you have none to give. The kind of exchanges I have seen and experienced on this web site are not debate they are attacks on people complete with name calling and unfounded accusations about being agents for others and the like being thrown around freely. That kind of behavior is inflammatory and only breeds more of the same. I suppose that my response to you is a waste of time but I do it because i believe there are truely reasonable people out there who witness this nonsense and i want them not be frightened off. I state to you one last time I defend no organization, I represent no one but my son. And I defend myself when attacked. I have rarely if ever posted on this web site but instead chose to read Al's various takes on different subjects and discuss them with him. this one time I took offense be being called a coward because I happen to read the IFW. I I also don't need advice from you MY DEAR Robin in how to email either on the site wether it be publically or in private. I am not ashamed of anything i have written thus far. I won't try to convince anyone of anything. Or ask people to throw their support in any direction. I believe that people when given information can make up their own minds. And i might add the information I gave on the Santa Barbara Project was requested. I seem to recall a similiar attack on a woman named kelly. She chose to share that there were upcomming trials for islet cell transplants. She was attacked and suggested all things short of a liar. I chose to call the numbers she gave and try to gather what information i could for myself and makeup my own mind.. Kelly and I had rather nice conversations in private as well. I suppose Robin that you and i will not be doing that. You choose to remain angry and attack and i find that regrettable. Debate and exchanges of information do not include the Kind of behavior you have chosen to display. And I repeat that infighting about who has the best website who is investing in what and personal slanders weaken the diabetic cause for a cure. End of message.
