I should apologize for referring to you as pal. For I do not consider you my pal. I feel that continued attacks from within will only diminish our fight for a cure. I act on no one's behalf but that of my son. I have always read posting on the web sites that i visit with respect for the person who is writing it but i get the distinct impression that that respect may be lacking in you. I too read Deb's web site and Al's site looking for information that may increase my knowledge and understanding of this disease and how best to help my son. i had given information on a project in diabetes project in Santa Barbara that is attempting bring together the work of many researchers in Islet cell transplantation to avoid duplication of research and hasten the process of providing this much needed treatment to the diabetic public. I was then attacked as telling people to throw my support behind some scandal ridden group etc. Folks give little old me an awful lot of non existent power. I simply received information from eisenhower Diabetes Center I called California got more information shared it with people much more knowledgeable than i and with others on the web sites interested in increasing their information base and hoped that they could come to their own conclusions.Incidentally the information I provided consisted primarily of phone and e-mail addresses for people to request information. i see alot of jumping to conclusions, attacking and accusing. I don't understand this. But I will say that I resent you referring to people who read The islet Cell Foundation Web Site as cowards. What an inflammatory statement and what purpose does it serve. This must stop if the cause for a cure will progress. so I apologize if I offended you and I would expect the same apology from you . Al has called for a stop to this sort of banter and i respect Al and will no longer respond in kind to e-mails such as yours.
