Were it not for The Islet Foundation's pages, I would never have known about INGAP, Diatranz, Mylan, VivoRx, Biogen, DRI, Desmos, Ixion, Dr. Bob Elliot and the NZ transplants and so much more.

Yes, I've read about islet cell encapsulation and transplantation as soon as my little boy was diagnosed 3 years ago---before I ever found TIF but I simply assumed that this research was being followed up in a consistant and realistic manner. I now realize that instead of making this type of research a priority, it has been relegated to the back burner for years. I applaud all people who have a quest for knowledge and pursue it rather than letting someone else do their thinking for them.

P.S. If islet cell encapsulation and transplantation is so unpromising, then why do so many feel so threatened by it?
